Meet the Professional Grounds Team 

As founder and Chief Executive Officer, Bill is still actively involved in the daily operations of Professional Grounds and is vested in its continued success. Also a Navy veteran, he has over 35 years of experience in maintaining commercial and residential landscapes.

    Glenda's business school background and work in high-level business offices give her prime experience to perform day-to-day operations assistance. She's also been the wife of CEO/President Bill Trimmer for over 45 years.

          Tim initially joined Professional Grounds in 1996 as a part-time employee and he continued to work summers at the company while obtaining his formal education in business management. Professional Grounds was honored to welcome Tim as a full-time employee in 2003, two days after his college graduation. As the Landscape Director, Tim’s responsibilities include managing and overseeing all aspects of the Landscape Department. Tim plays a key role handling company finances and budgeting, strategic planning, and internal controls. His positive attitude and hard work ethic accompanied with strong leadership skills make Tim a fabulous director. Over the last two decades, Tim has grown with the company and plays an integral role in Professional Grounds success.

          Marta brings with her nearly 30 years of experience in the landscaping industry ranging from nursery growing, production, sales, design and installation. For 11 of those years Marta owned and operated a retail garden center and landscape design/build company providing her with a strong background in business. She loves creating outdoor living spaces by incorporating her client’s desires into their specific property needs, as evident in the recognition she received for the 2015 Landscape Contractors Association ‘Distinction Award’ for her part in the design and installation of The Clifton Retreat.

          Marta has a knack for both small townhome and sprawling estate design but also loves working with any property size inbetween. Her project creations range from traditional to tropical, while incorporating only the appropriate hardscapes and plantings to ensure her client’s landscape installation will thrive in its specific environment. From site planning to furniture placement, Marta will become involved with every aspect of her client’s project insuring proper flow and comfort, all while making the construction process a delightful experience. Marta’s passion, enthusiasm and motivation allows her to build beautiful and functional landscapes while developing long term relationships.

          Kate began her design career more than 20 years ago. What started as a passionate hobby turned into a culmination of vast experience in the areas of interior design, renovation, custom home-building, and landscaping. Her vast knowledge and abilities were confirmed when her well documented efforts were awarded with the honor of receiving the Parade of Homes designation for “Best Custom Designed Home” for 2008. This award highlighted innovative hardscaping with a full outdoor kitchen and integrated fireplace. With her years of experience, Kate understands the connection between outdoor spaces and the interior of homes. She prides herself on her ability to connect with her clients and present a design/proposal that meets or exceeds their expectations. Kate has amazing attention to detail that is exemplified in each unique design she installs. Her landscape design philosophy includes providing homeowners with an exterior space that brings together their long-term landscape plans with their immediate outdoor space desires. These attributes combined with a business acumen for budgeting help each of her clients to achieve their ideal outdoor living space.

          Seth was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, and has live here all his life.  He’s been working in the Green Industry for the past 15 years, but his passion for plants, gardening, and landscape design started back over thirty years ago.

          Seth’s number one priority is to create a unique and beautiful landscape that is personalized to suit the individual needs of each of his clients. Seth is known for his ability to really understand his clients wants by simply getting to know them. His pallet is large and versatile and he greatly enjoys incorporating people’s unique lifestyles and preferences to reflect their outdoor area. Whether it’s contemporary or traditional or something in between, it will be artfully designed and professionally installed.

          “My mother studied and worked as an artist all her life and pushed me, from an early age, to follow in her footsteps. She enrolled me into the Corcoran Gallery School of Art when I was in the fifth grade, and I loved it from the start.  I used all the usual mediums:  charcoal, pencil, watercolors, and oils, but I didn’t really find my true medium until I discovered plants!” -Seth

          Joe has over 10 years experience in the green industry. His upbringing in the rural mountains of Southwest Virginia inspired his passion for plants and the outdoors which drove his goal of earning a degree in Horticulture with a focus in Landscape Contracting at Virginia Tech. Joe has extensive experience managing both landscape design/build and residential maintenance divisions. His management experience combined with his experience owning and operating his own business have helped him develop the necessary customer service and project management skills needed to ensure all of our landscape client’s questions and concerns are addressed proactively and that their landscape project runs smoothly from start to finish.

          Victor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Division at our main branch in Lorton. In addition to managing Lorton’s maintenance crews, Victor is in charge of scheduling, training new crew members and quality control. Victor originally started working for Professional Grounds in 1985 as a laborer. Victor’s natural ability as a leader, his attention to detail and his dedication has made him a very important asset to Professional Grounds. The company’s success is directly related to Victor’s role in day-to-day operations. Victor is both passionate and dedicated to providing superior service for our clients.

          Jon’s primary focus is business development which includes everything from customer service to continued, controlled growth of the landscape maintenance division. Jon has been with Professional Grounds, Inc. for over 10 years. Jon acts as community liaison and is involved in community associations such as: CAI, PMA, and AOBA. Jon’s formal education in Turfgrass Management and Agronomy and his previous experience as a Turfgrass Specialist and Branch Manager for lawn care franchise, has proven him to be an expert in the field. Jon is the primary contact for all new and potential landscape maintenance clients and coordinates a smooth transition to a full time Area Manager.

          Victor Jr. plays an integral part in our company’s overall success. Victor Jr. starting working for Professional Grounds in 2000 as a crew member. Victor showed such strong potential and work ethic that within months of joining Professional Grounds he was promoted to a Foreman and was leading crews. By 2004, Victor’s hard work, determination and strong management skills lead to his promotion as the Branch Production Manager for our Sterling Maintenance facility. Under Victor’s lead, Professional Grounds relocated our Sterling facility to Manassas in 2011. Victor is fully responsible for all safety and training, scheduling, production, quality control and day to day operations out of Manassas, VA.

          Gregg has lived and worked in the green industry in the Washington, DC metro area for over 30 years. Previously, an owner of a landscape maintenance business, Gregg brings with him extensive knowledge of the green industry and strong interpersonal skills which assist in building positive customer relationships. Being a Virginia Certified Horticulturist, Gregg is able to diagnose plant care problems on site and provide our customers with the best landscape solutions for their properties. Gregg manages many of our commercial maintenance accounts and plays a key role in enhancing employee morale and team-building within the company.

          Erik has over 30 years of turf management experience. After working in New England, the Mid Atlantic and Arizona, Erik has extensive knowledge of both warm and cool season turf. Erik has also managed golf courses and worked closely with members to deliver optimal results and satisfaction. Since 2007, Erik has worked for Professional Grounds as an Area Manager for commercial properties.
