Winter Protection

Winter can be a harsh environment for deciduous trees and shrubs such as Holly, Boxwoods, Pines and other evergreen shrubs and trees. To curb winter damage, known as winterburn, it is best to spray susceptible plants with an anti-desiccant, which is a clear, protective coating that slows the rate of plant transpiration to protect the plant. The best time to apply these product is late fall/early winter. Several applications may be required throughout the winter. Check out our blog on Curbing Winter Damage to read more about how to protect your plantings using anti-desiccants.
