JOB PURPOSE

Maintenance Crew members are responsible for performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled landscape tasks including horticulture, grounds maintenance, and equipment operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Landscape Maintenance

  • Performs grounds maintenance functions (e.g., pulling weeds, raking leaves, sweeping sidewalks, and cleaning debris).
  • Clears ditches, digs holes, and performs handwork as necessary using a pick, shovel, or other hand tools.
  • Waters vegetation using a hose; cleans canals, drains, and tree wells.
  • Performs various types of pruning (e.g., hard pruning, natural pruning, and formal pruning); properly prepares soil and installs annual color, plants, and trees.
  • Maintains lawns and planter beds as directed by the Foreman.
  • Properly installs tree stakes and ties.
  • Safely operate landscape equipment such as, commercial mowers, string trimmers, blowers, and backpack sprayers.
  • Maintains tools and equipment to ensure safety.
  • Safely load and unload equipment on and off trucks and trailers.
  • Actively participates in safety meetings.
  • Actively contributes to achieving performance goals (e.g., job quality, safety, customer service); complies with all company policies and safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with other crew members, crew leader & leadership team.
  • Provides excellent service to clients, work-site partners, and company staff.

Working Conditions

  • Work is predominately outdoors, exposed to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and noise levels
  • Exposure to dust, pesticides, herbicides, grease, oils, dust, fumes, and electrical currents.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Experience Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of professional landscape management experience

Preferred Education Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills are desirable

Required Skills

  • Use and maintain hand tools, light landscape equipment, and demanding landscaping equipment properly and safely.
  • Use all PPE as required; prune trees with proper equipment; apply chemicals, fertilizers, and fungicides correctly; plant various types of vegetation.
  • Work independently; communicate and follow directions; time management to show up for work punctually and complete tasks; work well with others; and provide excellent customer service.

JOB PURPOSE

The Landscape Enhancement Manager is responsible for the supervision of extra billable projects, including but not limited to planting, and hardscape enhancements of commercial landscape maintenance accounts. Also, he/she would be accountable for exceeding customer expectations, efficient management, and quality installations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Landscape Maintenance

  • Partner with Maintenance Account Managers to recommend and propose site improvements.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise enhancement projects, ensuring production, quality, and budget controls.
  • Ongoing training and supervision to maintain the high quality of our projects.
  • Process timely billing and job costing data and correlate with standard estimating procedures for enhancement sales.
  • Procurement of materials and equipment, coordination of Subcontractors.
  • Schedule/Coordinated project Timeline, Change Orders, and Punch-lists through prompt Project Completions.
  • Be responsible for accurate documentation of project costs.
  • Close project and submit Billing paperwork for invoicing.
  • Hire and develop crew members.
  • Evaluate performance and prepare Performance Reviews.

JOB PURPOSE

The Landscape Estimator is responsible for performing accurate landscape maintenance estimates, calculating all the costs associated with work materials, labor, and equipment, for new customers or new projects that come from our account managers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Landscape Maintenance

  • Collaborate with account managers to gather contract specifications and requirements.
  • Perform the estimates on time to meet deadlines set by customers.
  • Provide timely and accurate estimates to include mowing, pruning, leaf removal man-hours, cubic yards of mulch, hours for spring clean-up, perennial cut back, bed preparation, flower counts, pond mowing hours to the account managers.
  • Discuss the hours and estimate details with account managers to decide if they can be revised or updated in any way by improving efficiencies to provide the most competitive bids.
  • Present estimates to account managers in a clear and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and related documentation.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews as needed with account managers, property managers or Board of Directors.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine the estimation process for improved accuracy and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience in landscape estimating, preferably in a similar role within the landscaping or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with various types of landscaping projects, such as residential or commercial

Preferred Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or certification in Architecture, Horticulture, Construction, or related field.
  • Knowledge of local regulations, permits, and codes related to landscaping projects (desirable).

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of landscaping materials, techniques, equipment, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using Google Maps and landscape estimating software. Ability to understand maps, details of common areas, and specifics associated with each property.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively with various teams and customers.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

JOB PURPOSE

The Field Operations Trainer is responsible for the coordination and execution of training and development of the field employees, implementing industry-leading training programs, and developments systems, implementing measurement tools, and providing feedback, to ensure that all Professional Grounds, INC field employees are properly trained to perform their task. The occupant of this position must work together with the Training and Development Manager, Field Managers, and Human Resources Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Landscape Maintenance

  • Evaluate the current training programs that are in place and the materials.
    Identify areas in which training can make an impact on employee performance.
  • Develop the budget required for the execution of training programs.
  • Identify training needs for new employees and ensure all new hires receive initial training in their first week and first month on the job.
  • Assists in the development policies and procedures for training and development programs.
  • Complying with the weekly training schedule.
  • Conducting training sessions to teach employees how to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
  • Preparing and administering tests to measure the knowledge gained from training.
  • Ensure work performed meets safety, quality, and service standards.
  • Actively participates in safety meetings.
  • Providing feedback to trained employees about the quality and effectiveness of their performance.

At least two (2) years performing functions as a crew leader and one (1) year as a training supervisor (desirable).

  • Bachelor's or High School Degree in Education, Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field
  • Certifications in instructional design, adult education, or training.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills are mandatory.

JOB PURPOSE

The Junior Account Manager is responsible for enhancing long-term relationships with new and existing clients, exceeding their expectations through the efficient management of their requirements. The occupant of this position inspects clients’ landscapes to ensure that our high landscape maintenance standards are fulfilled.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend onsite meetings with existing clients (with an employee at PGI) to discuss our quality, services, and/or client expectations;
    Enhancement Opportunities (drainage, new plantings, tree removals, turf renovation, etc.);
    You will be expected to attend some meetings on your own and/or investigate clients requests/concerns
  • Learn our estimating software to be able to provide proposals accurately and efficiently for those enhancement opportunities.
  • Attend onsite meetings and perform site walks when Request for Proposals are sent for potential new landscape maintenance clients.
  • Perform QA/QC site visits of our existing clients to ensure our crews are maintaining properties at the level we demand.
  • Create site inspections reports of existing clientele and potential clientele to create enhancement opportunities.
  • Show enhancement jobs (drainage, retaining walls, new landscape installations) to our enhancement crews and ensure they are produced properly.
  • Perform business development duties (stop in offices to drop off brochures, email prospective clients) to procure bid opportunities on new properties.

JOB PURPOSE

The Landscape Field Manager is responsible for managing the field operations of the assigned contract maintenance and snow removal projects. Coordinate the procurement and scheduled use of resources such as labor, equipment, and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within budget, safety guidelines and quality standards. In addition, the occupant of this position must develop the people that report to them.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, schedule and supervise daily production activities on assigned contracts.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the hourly and cost budgets for each of your jobs. Monitor by reviewing job hours, reports and job costs regularly and taking action as needed. Communicate budget hours to Foreman.
  • Monitor quality of work and be proactive in bringing issues to the team leaders’ attention by inspecting the job on regular basis.
  • Get to know your people to help them develop within the company. Set goals with them and monitor their progress through timely formal and informal evaluations.
  • Organize and implement morning and end of day routine, daily huddles, weekly and monthly meetings with all production team members.
  • Be an active part of our training process by attending or conducting certification training sessions on a regular basis.
  • Act as the safety manager, implementing safety programs and achieving safety goals.
  • Perform business development duties (visit offices to drop off brochures, email prospective clients) to procure bid opportunities on new properties.
