Fuel Surcharge
Contract pricing assumes ordinary fuel and fuel-related operating costs.
For purposes of this fuel surcharge provision, the baseline fuel price shall be $3.00 per
gallon. Professional Grounds, Inc. may apply a monthly fuel surcharge if the AAA
Fairfax County, Virginia Regular Unleaded price, as published on or about the 15th day
of the month prior to the invoice month, exceeds $4.00 per gallon.
The fuel surcharge will be calculated as a percentage of the Client’s monthly maintenance
charge as follows:

| $3.50 or less | No surcharge. |
| $3.51–$4.00 | No surcharge; increase absorbed by Professional Grounds. |
| $4.01–$4.50 | 1.0% |
| $4.51–$5.00 | 1.5% |
| $5.01–$5.50 | 2.0% |
| $5.51–$6.00 | 2.5% |
| Above $6.00 | Additional 0.5% for each additional $0.50 per gallon, or portion thereof. |
The fuel surcharge is intended to help offset increases in fuel and fuel-related operating
costs, including vehicle and equipment fuel, vendor delivery charges, parts, materials, and
equipment-related costs. Any fuel surcharge will be shown as a separate line item on the
Client’s invoice. Professional Grounds, Inc. will provide at least fifteen (15) days’ written
notice before applying a fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be reviewed monthly and will be
reduced or removed when the applicable fuel price falls into a lower range or returns to
$4.00 per gallon or less.
